Dancing Bear Lodge & Appalachian Bistro

Dancing Bear Lodge & Appalachian Bistro is an award-winning restaurant and lodging property that blends rustic charm with refined luxury in Townsend, Tennessee, at the entrance to Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

The challenge

The Dancing Bear team wanted a website that was easier to manage in-house (managing orders, updating events, press mentions, dining menus) while collaborating with a Webmaster. Years later, the design needed a fresh look too.

What we built

• A WordPress rebuild (2020). WordPress is the world’s most popular content management system and is easy to use, so the team can log in to add events, update press and swap menus.
• A full redesign (2023). Over the second half of 2023 we reimagined the site with fullscreen photography and video, mosaic galleries, in-house line drawings, card-style layouts, a fullscreen menu and subtle animations.

See the result at DancingBearLodge.com.
