Apple Valley Mountain Village

Apple Valley Mountain Village is a store and café stop on the way to the Great Smoky Mountains and Cades Cove in Townsend, Tennessee, known for small-town favorites, events and live music. It’s part of the Oldham Hospitality family alongside Dancing Bear Lodge.

The challenge

After Oldham Hospitality acquired the brand, Apple Valley stepped up its marketing and needed a website the team could update on their own, especially its calendar of events and live music, without losing a design that already worked well.

What we built

• A move to WordPress from a lesser-known CMS. WordPress is the world’s most popular website platform and is easy for the marketing team to manage.
• The same proven design, rebuilt so it’s easier to maintain, plus an events blog for live music and other happenings.
• A mobile-friendly, responsive layout. About two-thirds of Apple Valley’s visitors were browsing on phones and tablets when we built it.
• SSL security, so visitors see the browser’s secure padlock instead of a “Not Secure” warning (why SSL matters).
• Lower costs through our Website Care Service: hosting, domain and email management, uptime monitoring, analytics, updates, security and regular backups.
